Birthday gifts
Birthday gifts can be difficult to buy for the person who has everything.
If you are struggling with buying a gift for a loved one who seemingly
already has it all, you need to think in a more simple way to come up
with the best present.
A story illustrates this principle well. A woman had a very eclectic
grandmother who was very quirky and very rich. It seemed as if she already
had everything she could ever need. Every year as the grandmother’s
birthday rolled around, the granddaughter dreaded what to buy for her
grandmother.
She had already been told not to buy any knick-knacks or other such
items. One year, she thought she found the perfect birthday gifts. It
was a beautiful plant for her grandmother’s home. It cost more
than $150, but the woman thought it was well worth the price.
Instead of receiving a great big “thank you” from the grandmother,
the woman instead simply received a “Oh. That’s nice.”
After this, the woman had no idea where to turn. So the next year she
decided to simply get a nice little jar of homemade jam from a place
she visited often and send it to her grandmother.
Well, you may have already guessed that the grandmother absolutely
loved the jam and loved the bottle the jam was in. Now the woman buys
the jam each year for her grandmother and everybody is happy.
This is just an example of how you should think when it comes to birthday
gifts. It is not absolutely necessary that you have the most expensive
or elaborate gift. Rather, you need to understand what the person for
whom you are buying loves and enjoys. Once you can figure this out,
the rest of the present-buying experience is easier.
